Dr. Levent Onat is the President of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022. 

He has Masters degree from Auburn University and PhD degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham in Environmental, Health &

Safety (HSE) and he is currently working  for a leading Industrial Gas Company as the Program Manager, Occupational Health and

Safety for US&CA.

He is from Izmir, Turkiye and he has been living in Alabama with his wife Melike since 2001.

Vice President: Canan Tas

 

 

Mr. Canan Tas is serving as vice president of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

He has BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and he is currently working as

the Head of Maintenance & Engineering.

He is from Tarsus/Mersin, Turkiye and he has been living in Madison Alabama with his wife Sennur and

their daughters Azra and Ceren

since 2011.

Treasurer: Eva Reichel

Ms. Eva Reichel is serving as the Board of Director and Treasurer of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

With her Business Management degree, she has been working in Birmingham Financial Sector since 2008. 

She is originally from Poland but lived in Germany where she met her husband Abidin.

They have now been residents of Vestavia since 1998.

Secretary: Duygu Gunay

Ms. Duygu Gunay is serving as the Board of Director and Secretary of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

She has BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Gaziantep University and worked as Production and

Manufacturing Engineer for Defense Industries.  

She is from Antalya, Turkiye and she has been living in Sterrett, Alabama with her husband Yakup since 2014.

Director: Aynur Ates-Vloon

 

Ms. Aynur Ates-Vloon is serving as the Board of Director of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

She has BSc degree in Computer Engineering from Ege University  and currently working as a Business Systems Analyst.

She is from Ordu, Turkiye and has been living in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband Paul since 2002.

Director: Mesut Yavuz

Dr. Mesut Yavuz is serving as the Board of Director of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

He has MSc. Degree in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul University and PhD degree in Industrial &Systems Engineering from

University of Florida.

He is currently working as an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the University of Alabama. 

He is from Istanbul, Turkiye.

He has been living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with his wife Nurhan, their twin daughters Azra & Meyra and their son Ata since 2014.

Director: Ibrahim Cemen

 

 

Dr. Ibrahim Cemen is serving as the Board of Director of Turkish American Association of Alabama for the term 2021-2022.

He is currently working as a professor at the University of Alabama Geological Sciences Department. He received his BSc. degree in

Geological Engineering at Istanbul University, Turkiye in 1974 and PhD degree in Geology from Pennsylvania State University in 1983.
